Together We can make a Difference

Be a Digging Well Ambassador

Ambassadors serve to raise the profile of the work of Digging Well, organise fund-raising events in their local community and encourage others to do the same. Together we can improve the learning environment and change the lives of many children going to school in sub-Saharan Africa.

Digging Well partners with local communities and local constituted authorities in the building of hygienic toilets at Schools.

You can sponsor a school today by providing a decent toilet. Your donations will help create a hygienic learning environment, ending poor sanitation, water crisis and waterborne diseases.

We also partner with local churches, Ministries and Charitable Foundation.

Your donation will empower girls’ education and end the poverty cycle in the community.

As a sponsor, you will be uniquely connected to the school you are sponsoring. You will get a glimpse into their world – culturally and environmentally.

Please consider signing up for a monthly donation, no amount is too small or too large, but being able to count on regular monthly donations is huge for us as an organisation so we appreciate all of our regular supporters.

IMPACT

We are creating a healthy lifestyle and providing a hygienic learning environment at schools in sub-Saharan Africa through our Hygienic Toilets, Improved Sanitation and Clean Water projects.

HEALTHY LIFESTYLE

Many schools in rural communities lack basic toilets, as some are using Pit Latrines with faeces that cause infections and diseases.

Our Water, Sanitation & Hygiene (WASH) project is helping to reduce faecal-transmitted infections, including cholera and diarrhoeal diseases, which remain the second leading cause of sickness and mortality among children under the age of five, and the leading cause of death in Africa.

HYGIENIC LEARNING ENVIRONMENT

Our Water, Sanitation & Hygiene (WASH) project goal of building clean fresh water, is preventing infectious diseases.

It is ending the negative effects of water scarcity and enhancing the academic performance of young people, especially young girls.

It is reducing young pupils, especially girls from opting out of schools due to lack of fresh water. Young students especially young girls no longer go on long dangerous walks to the dirty stream to fetch dirty water for their families.

IMPROVEMENT OF RETENTION, ACHIEVEMENT, AND SUCCESS RATES

Our improved sanitation awareness facilities project is creating a hygienic learning environment, improving pupils’ health, boosting school attendance and achievement, and promoting gender equality.

Digging Well’s building of hygienic toilets and clean fresh water is ending the needless barriers to children’s attendance and performance. The provision of these amenities is increasing school enrolment rates and promoting gender equality. We believe education empowers children and human beings and prevents the poverty cycle
